• Saint Thomas Rutherford Becomes TouchPoint's First Center for Excellence

    MURFREESBORO, TN, August 7, 2015- Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital has earned the distinction of being TouchPoint Support Services' first national Center for Excellence (CFE), leading the way in operational excellence, training, and leadership. TouchPoint Support Services, a member of Compass Group, manages food service and environmental services at the hospital.

    Centers for Excellence are Compass Group accounts that demonstrate exceptional hospitality, outstanding teams, and learning opportunities.  CFE's serve as cross-sector training centers for existing and newly hired associates to learn the Compass standard and best practices. Associates that go through CFE training can take advantage of: orientation to the organization, transfer of knowledge, enhancement of leadership, development of skills, and internal networking. The team will also be responsible for implementing new brand programs and technology and adapting it to the healthcare environment.

    To be recognized as a Center for Excellence, the Saint Thomas Rutherford team had go through an extensive credentialing process. This process involved a minimum of 6 months of service from committed managers and chefs, as well as a commitment to exceeding quality standards, values, business plans, and budgets.
